Wastell will drive Merlin’s creative strategy and lead their dedicated creative division in ‘Merlin Magic Making’.

Merlin Entertainments, Europe’s largest and the world's second-largest visitor attraction operator, today announced that the award-winning producer and digital media executive Megan Wastell will take on the role of Global Creative Director for the entertainment giant. A former Sky and MTV senior executive, Wastell joins Merlin from her previous role of Director of Product & Podcasts, Global Player at London’s Global Radio, Europe’s largest commercial radio company. In this role she managed product strategy across Global’s digital portfolio, overseeing innovation initiatives and the editorial podcast arm of the business.

Wastell starts on 18th of May and will immediately begin work on numerous exciting projects across Merlin’s 140+ global attractions, working with a range of IPs including LEGO, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Magic Light Entertainment and HASBRO.

She brings more than 20 years of experience in the entertainments industry, with her previous roles including Head of Creative Strategy for Sky Creative, Sky’s 300+ strong in-house creative agency, where she led brand strategy, on-air positioning, and through-the-line creative across Sky’s 19 channels. Prior to Sky, Wastell ran the mobile division of MTV Entertainment Group in New York, where she oversaw content creation and strategy for mobile websites, apps and on-demand partnerships reaching global audiences of 20 million+ per month.
