Merlin is one of the first companies to pledge support as one of this year’s headline sponsors

Merlin Entertainments, the UK’s largest visitor attraction operator, has sponsored the first Evenfields Black Talent Awards in the UK.

Held in Birmingham’s Edgbaston Stadium, the awards ceremony celebrated winners from across the country in multiple different sectors, from marketing to finance, FMCG and public sector.

Dominique Sidley, UK Inclusion & Diversity lead and Global Trade Strategy Director for Merlin Entertainments, said:

“Ultimately it’s people that make Merlin a great place to work – and visit.  We want to continue to attract, retain, celebrate and reward those who share our passion for putting smiles on people’s faces. To do this we have created an environment in which everyone can fulfil their potential, be their authentic self and do their best work. It’s why we invest in development and training throughout the business - we thrive on innovative and big ideas. The more diverse the experiences and backgrounds of our people, the more we can offer our customers and the communities in which we work."

"At Merlin, everyone matters and it is our aim to be the most inclusive and flexible employer in our industry. Right now though, we acknowledge and understand that we are on a journey - and still have some way to go. By partnering with agencies and community organisations such as Evenfields, we can develop valuable partnerships to help us understand what more can be done to accelerate our efforts – through listening and acting on the voices of those with lived experiences. It is an honour to be one of the headline sponsors of this year’s awards and we want to congratulate each of the nominees and winners on their success.”

Alongside the sponsorship, a film has been launched capturing the stories from team members from Merlin’s attractions around the world. Team members have come together to share what they love about working for Merlin, what makes them proud and the times they've felt supported as part of the team.

Merlin continues to recruit for roles in different departments at attractions or offices across the globe, and is an inclusive employer, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds and abilities. Visit www.merlincareers.com for the latest vacancies.
